Well my assistant Leah finally explained to me what these blogs were,
and I must say, I am quite intrigued. As a young girl in New Milford I
so enjoyed reading our housekeepers diary. She kept it in her poorly
made pocketbook and I would take it when she was napping in the
afternoon. She was a portly woman from the seedy part of Rhode Island,
but oh how she fantasized about our gardener. I must say, she actually
had a real talent for words. That's an unusual talent to find in a
domestic. Unfortunately she was killed in some sort of canoing
accident. People don't realize that canoes can be really dangerous.
They don't. Leah, make sure you write that. That canoes are
dangerous. I want people to know that because they don't think about
it. Well, I think that's plenty. Let's go have lunch now.
FOCUS Blog
April 2009 Archives
So sorry it's been so long since I've blogged -- I did write a few blogs that apparently got "lost" to the internet -- AHEM -- interesting that they were all about my work for the McCain campaign.
I get so many emails from fans asking, Charity, what are you up to? And perhaps, more importantly, asking my advice on a variety of matters--so I thought I would take this opportunity to answer some of your questions!
to PTAMom in Indianapolis:
I always say, kill them with kindness! If you are having trouble being heard because your opinions are not "popular", I suggest baking special cupcakes, then while people's mouths are full of delicious sugar -- and think you are a "sweetie" you can bring up your unhappiness with the current sex ed program. And it always helps to have a petition to back you up! Try taking it to your church!
to QuestioningCareerPath in Seattle:
I am living proof that ladies, we can have it all! I have always been a "working mom" and so far, I have not had to give up too much of my own interests in order to have enough time with my husband Maxwell and our little one! In fact, I have found that the bBaby was indeed my number one priority--so I may have to skip some charity events and speaking engagements here and there--I could not ask for a better family so I must be the best wife and mother I can be for them!
to MarthaOnABudget in Cleveland:
You deserve kudos! What a great idea, using beef instead of tofu in that recipe!
to Sharon B. in Yonkers:
Thank you, that dress was from the Donna Karan spring line. But look for affordable and attractive clothing for ladies of all ages in my upcoming Charity fashion line at Kohl's stores everywhere!
Well, that's all for now - the baby and I will be in Augusta, GA for the next few weeks cheering Maxwell on in The Masters tournament!
Love, Charity
